The glassware in this cabinet ranges from everyday glass to specialized glass used in laboratories. It was displayed at Museum Voorlinden in Wassenaar, which I consider one of the most beautiful museums for refined art.
The reflections and shadows, with subtle transitions from very light to medium gray and blue, capture the fragility and forms fairly well. Fairly well, because despite the many hours invested, you can keep pushing (hyper)realism forever. There is no real ceiling in painting.
Some painters spend 1 to 3 years on a single work and come very close to that ceiling. I still fly below it for now. Maybe I need more hours, more lessons, and more experiments. Or maybe not pursuing that ceiling is also a valid choice.
Still, realistic art remains a wonderful corner of the art world for me.
