Fashion and models can be placed in a specific era. The nineteen nineties were different from the twenty-twenties. This painting was made before the rise of AI, but it is still a compilation of elements arranged into a coherent image.
So what is reality and what is not? We are moving into a time where people claim that generating images with one click is ‘making art’. And what is artistic about painting? Painting is also a craft. As in my previous post: it is what you, as the viewer, make of it.
I consider something artistically valuable when many hours of practice have gone into it and you can hardly take your eyes off it.
By the way, in which country do you think the woman on the little wall is? For me it is Italy. Don’t ask me why.
